Charlie Tyler likes order, consistency, and an unfaltering schedule. She’s a tiny spitfire with a masculine name to match her badass personality. She’s known in education as the queen of behaviorally challenged kids, but in her personal life, she’s…wait, what personal life? Charlie can subdue the most oppositional defiant, troubled boys sent to Camp SubLime all while maintaining order as the camp’s principal, but when it comes to dating men, she can’t seem to do it right.
When a stranger comes to town, Charlie discovers a side of herself she hasn’t been comfortable enough to explore. Could that be why her other relationships never worked out?
But Storm Roland is a challenge like none she’s ever seen, and he’s convinced the principal needs to learn a lesson only he’s man enough to teach.
The undercover operative and financial wizard is successful at everything he does, so failure is never an option. Then he gets an assignment to bring down a drug smuggler disguised as the principal at a camp in Lime Peak, Maine.
But things are not as they seem, and as the two learn more about each other, they either need to side with the school of trust or call things off and go with the camp of protecting their hearts.

Chapter One Look Inside
Chapter One Look Inside
I haven’t been in my new condo for more than a night when I get a call I don’t want to answer any more than I’ll want to deal with my twin brother when I tell him I’ll be away for an unknown amount of time. Again. I just took over Corey’s lease when he moved back into his house with his wife and kids.
Corey, my younger by thirty seconds brother, and his wife, just reunited and when he left his condo to move back in with his family, I gladly took over the lease with an option to buy. Now, I’ll need Corey and Delaney to look after the place and my office until I return.
They think I’m still in the military, which is only sort of the truth. But it’s the best I can do. I can’t tell them I work for a private security firm staffed by a bunch of ex-military men from the most elite special force branches in the US — ANGLICO, Delta Force, MARSOC, and SEALs—gone rogue.
Sighing, I’m forced to swipe my finger across the screen to take my boss’s call. “Mac,” I say in greeting. “What do you need?”
“Hey, Storm. You free for the next couple weeks? Black said he spoke to you earlier, and you had nothing pressing coming up.”
“Depends. You sending me to the tropics for some fun in the sun with hot pussy wrapped in barely visible bikinis?”
The once player turned family man laughs. “Lime Peak, Maine, but I hear they have an indoor water park with a few palm trees. I’ll cover the admission for a day.”
“Fuck you!” I scoff. “Maine? In February?”
“Yeah. Camp SubLime.”
I laugh. “Doesn’t sound remotely sublime to me. It sounds cold as shit, if I’m being honest. What’s the job?”
“We’ve got reason to believe the principal at the camp for special needs kids isn’t as wholesome as she seems.”
Again, I’m made to laugh. “What’s she doing? Running ADHD meds? Giving the PTA mommies some happy pills?”
“I’ll send the file, but yeah, from what we know, she’s running drugs for the cartels.”
I nod, even though I know Mac can’t see me. Drug running and cartels are his weakness because his father and half-brother ran one that almost cost him his life. It cost his partner and ex-girlfriend hers. And that’s why he knows my answer before I speak.
“You can drive up tomorrow morning. Scope the place out, find lodging, then blend in with the locals. The camp should be pretty quiet for another week or two until the schools go on break, then the full staff and campers will show up.”
“Who’s there now?”
“The consistent full-time staff and faculty, the principal in question, and the full-time, live-in kids.”
I sigh. “I’ll look over the file and get back to you.”
Mac chuckles. “I’ll deposit your standard payment into your account. And thanks, man. Enjoy the snow.”
The bastard chuckles again before he hangs up, and I groan at the thought of snow, slush, and ice.
As I knew they would, my brother and his wife insist I go there for dinner with my teenage niece and nephew before leaving for my assignment.
On my way, I make a stop at The Tipsy Pig, the only bar in my brother’s upscale town, with a menu featuring pork inspired dishes and anything you can think of wrapped in bacon.
